In 2016, KT-Energy prepared a Biomass Power Plant Project Development Road Map in Ukraine with a step-by-step plan of actions.

The document describes in a systematic way project development cycle activities needed to reach the financial close for the project, construct and commission the power plant and sign power purchase agreement utilizing the green tariff for renewable electricity. Specifically, the roadmap provides information on the following procedures: land acquisition; project design documentation development; environmental impact assessment; construction permits; environmental permits; plant commissioning; grid connection; obtaining electricity generation license; approving green tariff and signing power purchase agreement.

KT-Energy’s specialists executed the following tasks within this assignment:

• Review of the Ukrainian legislation on project design documentation development, construction permits, power grid connection, plant commissioning, environmental permits, etc.;
• Consultation with the Ukrainian energy industry market players on cost and timelines for specific steps of project development cycle execution;
• Preparation of the report “Biomass Power Plant Project Development Road-Map” with guidelines for developing biomass power plant project in Ukraine.
